The part nobody tells you

You will never find out what you overpaid.

The ship docks. Four thousand people walk down the same gangway into the same three shops on the pier — the ones positioned to be found first, not the ones with the best price.

You buy the bracelet. You feel good about it. You go back on board.

What you never learn is that two streets over, a store you walked straight past would have sold you the same stone for a third less, thrown in the setting, and handed your kids a gift on the way out. You don’t find out. Almost nobody ever finds out. That is precisely why the pricing works the way it does.

Walking in cold

What happens to everyone else

  • You shop where the crowd goes, because that is where the crowd goes
  • You pay the walk-in number — the highest figure the store will ever quote
  • You get one shot, and you are back on the ship by four
  • You negotiate against someone who does this three hundred days a year
  • You never see the comparison, so it always feels like a good deal

Walking in with a duck

What happens to you

  • You get the stores by name, for the exact ports on your sailing
  • You get the VIP price the retailer agreed in advance
  • You get a free gift with no purchase required
  • You know before you dock, so port time goes to the beach, not to guessing
  • 50+ retailers, chosen over nine years at sea in these same ports

How it works

Three steps. About two minutes.

No app to download. No account to create. Nothing to scan in the sun with one bar of signal.

On board

Find a duck

Over a thousand Mystery Ducks are hidden across the fleet — pool deck railings, the buffet, lounge chairs, elevator banks, the Lido bar. Whoever spots it, keeps it. That is the only rule.

Ten seconds

Type the link on its base

The address is printed straight into the podium under the duck: duckfor.fun/find. No camera, no scanning, no app. Type it into your phone and you are in.

In port

Show the duck. Get the price.

Tell us your ship and your ports. You get your VIP pass, the named stores for every port you are visiting, and the free-gift instruction. Walk in, show the duck, get the number the crowd never sees.

Where it works

Twelve ports. Named stores in every one.

These are not categories. They are specific retailers with specific offers, agreed in advance.

Cozumel 6 stores St. Thomas 5 stores San Juan 5 stores Roatán 3 stores Aruba 6 stores Amber Cove 4 stores Grand Turk 3 stores Bonaire 3 stores Curaçao 4 stores Grand Cayman 4 stores Nassau 4 stores Celebration Key 3 stores

In Cozumel that means Diamonds International, Milano Jewelry, Del Sol, Cariloha, Touch of Gold and Viva Mexico. In Aruba, a credit on shipwreck coins minted before 1700. In Roatán, the 320-carat tanzanite that never makes it into the brochure. In St. Thomas, a boutique most passengers walk past twice.

The full list unlocks the moment you tell us where you are sailing.

The obvious question

Why would anyone give this away?

Because the retailers pay for the introduction — and you are the introduction.

A store in Cozumel does not want four thousand people wandering past. It wants twenty buyers who arrived on purpose. Getting you through the door is worth more to them than the margin they give up on your first purchase, so they give up the margin.

You are not the product here. You are the reason the product exists. The duck costs you nothing because it was never designed to.

No purchase required

The free gift is free. Walk in, show the duck, walk out with it. Buy something or don’t — the offer is the same either way.

No app, no account

A link printed on the base and one short form. No download, no password, no loyalty scheme to forget about.

🔒

Nothing to cancel

No subscription, no card on file for the free duck beyond the $9.95 shipping. One transaction, then it is yours.

Who is behind this

“Nine years at sea. Three thousand days in these ports. My entire job was knowing which store in each one gives the real number — and every single week I watched thousands of people walk straight past it, because nobody had told them. This is me telling them.”

Straight answers

The questions everyone asks

Do I have to buy anything to use the duck?

No. The free gift at participating retailers is genuinely free and requires no purchase. Show the duck and your VIP pass, take the gift, leave. The VIP pricing is there if you want it, and ignored entirely if you don’t.

There’s no QR code — how do I actually claim it?

Deliberately. QR codes fail in bright sun, need a camera app, and need signal at exactly the wrong moment. The web address is printed into the podium under the duck: duckfor.fun/find. Type it into any browser, on the ship or after you get home. It works either way.

I’m not on a cruise yet. Is it still worth claiming?

That is the best time to claim. We ship the duck to you, you tell us your sailing when you have it, and the store list is already on your phone before you dock. Claiming on board works too — you just lose the head start.

Which cruise lines does this work on?

The retailer list is built around the twelve Caribbean ports above, so it works for any ship calling at them. The ducks themselves are hidden across Carnival sailings. duckfor.fun is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any cruise line.

What does the $9.95 cover?

Packing and worldwide shipping of the physical duck. The duck itself, the VIP pass, the store list and the gift are free. There is no subscription and nothing renews.

How do the retailers know the duck is real?

Every duck sits on a numbered podium and every claim generates a VIP pass with its own reference. Store managers on the list know the programme, know the podium, and know what the pass looks like. Showing both is the whole handshake.

What do you do with my email address?

We send your VIP pass, your store list, and port shopping notes before your sailing. We do not sell your details to anyone, retailers included. One link in every email takes you off the list permanently.

Your cruise happens once.

The prices in those ports are set for the week you are there. Then you sail, and that is it — you either walked in knowing, or you walked in paying retail. There is no third option, and there is no second cruise to fix it on.
